In the video the topic that i believe i personaly mostly identified with was my parents wanting to get into my things. I am a very safe and reserved person online. I am aware of the dangers that surf the web, but i dont prevent that from letting me have a social life online. My mom and dad where not very technological so i helped them make a facebook and use other internet resources. My parents respected my privacy alot untill they saw all the dangerous things on the internet. They started to look into my social feeds, my inboxes, what i saw online. At first it didnt bother me because i didnt do anything inapropriate but then i got mad because they where looking into my pictures with friends, my inboxes and my conversations with firends that are very close to me so i decided to block my parents from facebook and i put a password on my computer so that they would only be able to look at my online activity with my permission.
In the video the topic that i didnt relate with at all was the topic about nudity and fake identities. I would never have done what that girl did. To take revealing picrtures of herself and then post them on social networks or blogs. I know that she isnt the only person that does this. In my school there have been such cases that revealing pictures are posted online and they circulate throughout the whole student body and they lead to cyber bullying. That is something i dont relate with aswell but it tends to happen. I believe that cyberbullting is a thing for insecure people who get confidence by hurting others.
For all parents, i think that it depends a lot on your childs personality and their age. Many children are too small to identify a potential danger but other more mature kids can. So you should monitor that aspect a lot. Second of all, let them have their privacy. Children have many secrets like playground gossip which is harmless but if you are woried just talk to them and surely they will let you know if they need any help. If your child is mature then they probably wont get in any danger. If your child is unaware of the dangers then it might make them an easier target so make sure to inform your children fully on the situation.
I believe that being online has many benefits. You can chat with your friends through many diferent websites. You can learn new things and get more information out of the web, may it be for personal reasons o school work. You can make many things using applications online like prezi or play games. There are many tipes of games some for entertainment and many are educational games. you can also take classes online aswell as have class groups on pages like facebook which allows you to share information with others. So the biggest benefit of being online for me is the social and academic aspect.
