design project day 3

this game does match our descriptions because it is fun to play and it is not that easy nor that hard . It will also be sparkly and colourfull.
the most powerfull idea we have on our model are the prizes and the design to prevent people from just taking them. Also the colours and diferent sizes atrackt people.
instead of circles we can make them squares so that it is easier to build and the ball is more likely to hit it.

What needs to be done:

1. First we need to cut a large piece of cardboard that will then be cut into 3 equal pieces.2. In the middle piece of cardboard we will cut out squares of different sizes. 3. We will then fold it so it makes a cube with only 3 sides having the squares in the front.4. Then we will take another piece of cardboard with the same width as the cube and make it a slope and stick it to the back of the cube. 5. Finally we will create small shelves according to each square size to place the prize.6. After having the model done we will paint and decorate it with pink and sparkling things. We will all work together to complete each task.

The other materials we will need are:-paint-glitter-brushes-prizes- bisturi (Patty will lend it to us)-little bags Nicole will supply us with most of the materials.

Design project-day 2

1. the strengths and weaknesses of the drawing are :

TATIANA: she has added butterfly's which is very creative , the bad thing is that it might be harder for the children to win and they will get bored.

LORENZAS: it is easy to make but very dull and boring

MINE : it is organized but it might get too repetitive.

The drawing with most strength is mine because it is easy to understand and play but not to a point that it gets boring.

we will ad butterfly's around the circles so that is one addition , and we will add circles of different sizes.

something we would like to do is put the prize in a little bag.

we would like to take away always having the same prizes.

Feedback: we should make the holes round instead of square, and that they think it is well structured and a nice game.

design project - day 1

Tatiana Seinjet, Lorenza Galvis.

define phase :
1) elementary girls
2) medium difficulty
3) prizes, different colors, big and sparkly, different sizes, better prizes each time.

research phase:
1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o--fjol_Ehc this shows us how to make a spinner which is great. The only thing I might have changed is that it could give more ideas on how to use it.

2)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfad7yukhIY here it is a replica of an app , that was recreated to real life. I think it is awesome but maybe it could be a little bit smaller, like on a smaller scale.

3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoLzIQ0NoBY here it shows practical games and how to create them. but i might make it a bit more colorful or attractive to play.

ideation phase:

1) brainstorm . we thought of many things like one having many holes and prizes in the holes and you have to knock down the prize with a ball. Or one where we had to match the barbies and another one that included a claw machine.

2) the idea we chose was one that consisted of holes with prizes in them, then they would throw a ball to knok down the prize they wanted and it would fall down a ramp. it would be fun because it has many colours .
3) some things that can go wrong is that we run out of prizes , the ball gets stuck , the children steal the prizes. we will deal with this by giving the teacher a reset of prizes , and the ball will be a size that makes it un probable to get stuck as well as having spare balls. and the children will have a barrier that doesnt allow them to reach the prizes.
